It proclaimed the “self-evident truths” that “all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”. These lines refer to, probably, the most important and marvelous document in the American history – the Declaration of Independence, written largely by Thomas Jefferson and signed by the Founding Fathers of the United States of America on July 4, 1776, that is to say, exactly 240 years ago.
